Christmas Tour of Homes

I had intended on posting this on Dec 17, for BooMama’s Christmas Tour of Homes, but I ran out of time and didn’t make it. Then I decided to go out of town for the holidays and spent almost a week with relatives, so I was without internet during that time. But, here is a tour of my home.
Be sure to visit BooMama’s blog and check out the beautiful homes on the tour.

Christine presents Is Homeschooling Right For Your Family? posted at Me, My Kid and Life: An American Single Mom Living in France, saying, “One family’s experience with homeschooling. When it was right. When it wasn’t. The benefits of being educationally proactive in your child’s life.”
The Career Counselor presents The Top Ten Companies for Working Moms and How to Negotiate Better Family-Friendly Benefits posted at ask the CareerCounselor, saying, “Although there are undoubtedly many companies still stuck in the dark ages of work-family balance, many employers are shifting toward a more positive attitude regarding extended maternity leave or extended time off for child care. More and more businesses are putting up quite a fight to hang onto valuable female employees and executives. These efforts include a range of clever time-management and career development options. For example, many employer programs offer women the opportunity to ‘phase back’ into work after leave, perhaps working only a few hours a day at the start and then working towards a normal full-time schedule. Other companies provide extended maternity leave or child-care leave, coupled with opportunities to stay up to date in their field such as free training classes and networking events.”

Lisa Lamb presents The Girly-Girl posted at The Loony Bin: Outrageous but True.

ARGH!

I decided to add a little holiday decorations to my blog theme, and somehow my footer got dropped and I can’t figure out where it went.

I’ve been hunting for it since last night with no success.

Tuesday Twosome

1. What two things do you “have” to wear when it is chilly/cold outside?
a coat and gloves
2. What are two good things about wintry weather?
hot chocolate with marshmallows and warm fuzzy blankets
3. What two things do you really dislike about wintry weather?
the wind and chapped lips
4. On average, how cold does it get in your city/town and how long does the cold weather last?
the average low is about 35-37 degrees, and those temps only last from about December to February
5. Would you rather be stuck at home because of a blizzard or flooding?
a blizzard… flooding is a terrible thing to go through. I’ve never actually been stuck at home because of a blizzard, but it has snowed a few times during my lifetime, but didn’t stick. In 1994, Tropical Storm Alberto dumped 24″ inches of rain in our area. Macon was one of the cities that was hit the hardest. I went through Hurricane Ivan in Pensacola in 2004 and I never want to go through anything like that again.
